The competition closed on 27th March 2012.

Turn a hot idea into a cool solution!

The chipKIT Challenge invites participants to design an Open Source energy-efficient and eco-friendly device using a Microchip's chipKIT™ Max32™ development board. In addition, they will need to design an extension card developed using the DesignSpark's PCB tool.

The prize-winning, efficient applications could be anything that reduces the energy footprint of a system, a controller for a windmill, an energy efficient battery charger or even a piece of hardware that lets you drive your e-bike miles further! All entries are Open Source, so at the end of the competition, design entries will be shared with the community, allowing others to gain from the participants knowledge and expertise.

Entries judged to have the most energy efficient solution will win a share of US Dollars $10,000 cash!
